The Special Order Fruit Tree program allows retail nurseries to take pre-season orders from their customers for individual trees of Dave Wilson Nursery home orchard varieties.

The SOFT Program gives retail nursery customers the opportunity to place an order with a participating retail nursery which can in turn purchase the individual tree from Dave Wilson Nursery.

Through the SOFT Program, your customers can special-order single trees of taste-test winners, exciting new hybrids from Zaiger Genetics Inc., heirloom varieties, early and late-maturing, novelty and specially adapted varieties - many grown on a choice of rootstocks.

Here's How...

  • Complete an Individual Customer Order Form for each customer that places an order, then file it in one central location.
  • Individual Customer Order Forms are for your retail nursery use only.
  • Please do not fax them to DWN.
  • Review all Individual Customer Order Forms to assure that all varieties are a part of the program.
  • Only the varieties that appear on the SOFT Order Form are eligible for single tree orders.
  • Total all Individual Customer Order Forms,
  • Transfer all quantities to the SOFT Order Form.
  • This should be done right before the deadline of November 12th.
  • Mail or Fax completed SOFT Order Form to DWN Wholesale Dept. (fax: 209-874-1920) no later than November 12.
  • No SOFT orders will be accepted by phone.
  • Upon receipt, review your SOFT Program order confirmation, sign it and return it to DWN.
  • A confirmation will be sent to you within 2 weeks following the program deadline of November 12.

SOFT Terms & Conditions

  1. All retail nurseries having an account with Dave Wilson Nursery are eligible for the SOFT program.
  2. Warranty, terms and payment discounts are the same as for regular wholesale orders.
  3. Special Orders are entirely separate from regular wholesale orders.
  4. For special orders there are no minimum quantity requirements per variety.
  5. There is no minimum total order, but customers whose special orders total less than 25 trees as of the deadline will be charged $25.00 for handling.
  6. The deadline for special orders is November 12.
  7. All special orders must be placed by mail or fax, not by telephone. Confirmations are not necessarily sent for each addition to a special order, but are sent periodically.
  8. Tree sizes will vary from 1/2" to 3/4". For each tree ordered, customers may indicate a first, second, and third-choice size.
  9. Prices are the wholesale 100-tree rate for 5/8", less 10%, regardless of size preferred or size shipped. The pricing on the SOFT Price List/Order Form are suggested retail prices.
  10. Most single-budded fruit trees, almond trees and specialty 2n1 fruit trees (not 3n1's or 4n1s) grown by the Dave Wilson Nursery wholesale department are offered for special ordering. Eligible items are shown on the SOFT Order Form.
  11. Items not listed are not available.  Please use the Order Form when ordering.
  12. Special Order trees may be shipped with customers regular fruit tree order, or by UPS as late as February 10th, at the option of Dave Wilson Nursery. If shipped by UPS, the trees will be topped at 42". Customers in colder climates may opt for a ship date as late as March 10th.
