ARKANSAS BLACK SPUR APPLE Large, late season. Dark red skin,
high quality even where summer nights are warm. For dessert and
cooking. Keeps many months. 800 hours. Partly self-fruitful.
FUJI APPLE Recent introduction from Japan that quickly became
California's favorite apple. Sweet, very crisp and flavorful, excellent
keeper. Dull reddish-orange skin, sometimes russeted. Ripe
mid-September. Excellent pollenizer for other apple varieties. Low
chilling requirement - less than 500 hours. Self-fruitful.
GRANNY SMITH APPLE From New Zealand. Large, late, green,
all-purpose. Crisp, tart, excellent keeper. Requires long summer.
Thrives in hot climates. 600 hours. Prolonged bloom: good pollenizer
for other apples. Self-fruitful.
JONAGOLD APPLE Superb flavor - connoisseurs' choice. A cross of
Jonathan and Golden Delicious. Yellow with red-orange blush. Crisp,
juicy, subacid, all-purpose. 7-800 hours. Pollinated by Fuji, Gala,
Granny Smith or Red Delicious, but not Golden Delicious.
PINK LADY® APPLE (Cripps Pink) New hot climate apple from
Western Australia. Very crisp, sweet-tart, distinct flavor, good keeper.
Skin reddish-pink over green when ripe. White flesh resists browning.
Harvest begins late October in Central Calif., about three weeks after Fuji.
Self-fruitful. 4-500 hours. Pat. No. 7880.
TILTON APRICOT No. 1 apricot for canning, excellent fresh or dried as
well. Medium to large, firm, rich flavor - one of the best. Widely
adapted. Early July in Central Calif. 600 hours. Self-fruitful.
TOMCOT APRICOT The most consistently productive apricot variety at
Dave Wilson Nursery 1992-97. Large, orange fruit with firm, sweet
flesh. Early harvest, 2-3 weeks before Wenatchee Moorpark. Originated
at Prosser, WA, introduced in 1989. 600 hours. Partly self-fruitful;
biggest crops if cross-pollinated by another apricot. Pat. No. 7034.
BLACK TARTARIAN CHERRY Medium-sized, nearly black, sprightly
flavor, early season. Vigorous, productive tree. 700 hours. Pollenizer
required -interfruitful with all popular sweet cherries.
CRAIG'S CRIMSON CHERRY Taste test winner. Self-fruitful, natural
semi-dwarf, perhaps the finest sweet cherry. Dark red to nearly black,
medium to large size, wonderful spicy flavor, very firm texture. Mature
tree size about 2/3 of standard (smaller when budded onto Colt or
Mahaleb rootstock). Mid-season. 500-600 hours. Pat. No. 7320.

NORTH STAR DWARF SOUR CHERRY Attractive, densely foliated,
naturally small tree grows to about 8-10 ft. Hardy to -40oF, very
productive, resists cracking and brown rot. Often bears in second year.
Large, meaty, tart, red-skinned fruit with red juice. Excellent for pies and
cobblers, also used fresh when fully ripe. From Minnesota, introduced in
1950. 800 hours. Self-fruitful.
RAINIER SWEET CHERRY Large, yellow with red blush. Sweet and
flavorful - superior to Royal Ann. Very cold hardy. Mid-season harvest.
700 hours. Pollenizer required -interfruitful with Van, Lambert, Black
Tart, Bing.
STELLA CHERRY Self-fruitful - no pollenizer needed. Large, nearly
black, richly flavored sweet cherry similar to its parent, Lambert. Late
harvest. 500-600 hours. Pollinates Bing, except in mild winter climates.
LI JUJUBE Also called "Chinese date". Round-shaped fruits are larger
than Lang. Reddish-brown, dry and wrinkled, sweet and chewy (like
dates) when fully ripe in early Fall. Attractive, easy-to-grow tree: hardy,
drought-resistant, virtually pest and disease free. Requires long, hot
summer. Very low chilling requirement. Partly self-fruitful, or pollinated
by Lang.
IMPROVED BROWN TURKEY FIG Large, brown skin, pink flesh.
Sweet, rich flavor, used fresh. Widely adapted - coast or inland climate.
Small tree, prune to any shape. 100 hours. Self-fruitful.
SPICE ZEE NECTAPLUM TM INTERSPECIFIC The first Nectaplum
TM from Zaiger Hybrids. SpiceZee packs a pile of amazing fruit flavors
into an attractive tree for the home gardener. It is slightly acidic and
loaded with sugar giving it a spicy sweet flavor. One can detect both Plum

frost hardy. 900 hours. Self-fruitful.
LORING PEACH Taste test winner. Superb large yellow freestone.
Excellent flavor and texture, low acid. Harvests over 2-3 week period,
mid to late July in Central Calif. Requires little or no thinning. Excellent

O'HENRY PEACH Popular fresh market yellow freestone now available
for home planting. Large, firm, full red skin, superb flavor. Ripens early

POLLY WHITE PEACH One of the most winter hardy peach varieties.

BLAKE'S PRIDE PEAR Developed by Dr. Richard Bell at the ARS
Appalachian Fruit Research Station in Kearneysville, WV. it has an
aromatic, rich flavor and a juicy flesh texture. It also has a high degree of
resistance to fire blight.
WARREN PEAR Excellent quality dessert pear - and highly resistant to
fireblight. Medium to large, long-necked fruit with pale green skin,
sometimes blushed red. Smooth flesh (no grit cells) is juicy and buttery
with superb flavor. Good keeper. Cold hardy to -20oF. From
Mississippi. 600 hours. Self-fruitful.
CHOCOLATE PERSIMMON Small to medium size, oblong, bright red
skin. Sweet, spicy, firm, brown flesh, superb flavor - the choice of

COFFEECAKE PERSIMMON (Nishimura Wase) For Fuyu Lovers only
Pollinated by Chocolate or other persimmon, ripens one month earlier.
Unique spicy-sweet flavor that instantly evokes images of cinnamon

IZU PERSIMMON Very sweet, tasty, non-astringent fruit ripens about
three weeks before Fuyu. Medium to large size, round shape. Relatively
small tree, good choice for backyard persimmon. Sometimes difficult to

STANLEY PRUNE Large, dark blue skin. Juicy, sweet, delicious,
greenish-yellow meaty flesh, freestone. Late summer harvest. Late
blooming, extremely cold hardy and reliable. 800 hours. Self-fruitful.
OZARKBLUE BLUE BERRY Northern x Southern hybrid. Outstanding
flavor, late season. Performs well in cold country or in areas with high

FLAME SEEDLESS GRAPE Medium-sized, light red. Crisp, sweet,
excellent flavor. For fresh use or raisins. Needs hot summer. Ripe early,

HALL'S HARDY FLOWERING ALMOND Beautiful, profuse pink
flowers. Late blooming. Adapted to cold climates. Vigorous. Kernel

PRAIRIFIRETM FLOWERING CRABAPPLE Crimson buds followed
by long-lasting, single, pinkish-red blossoms. Persistent dark red fruit.
New foliage reddish-maroon, aging to reddish-green. Highly resistant to
fireblight, scab, cedar apple rust and powdery mildew. Tree form is
upright, spreading, eventually round. 20 ft. x 20 ft.
LATE RED FLOWERING PEACH Magnificent double red flowers.
Late bloom, good choice to follow early bloomers or for frost-prone areas.

KRAUTER VESUVIUS FLOWERING PLUM Dark purple leaves, light
pink blossoms, little or no fruit. Relatively small tree, 18' high, 12' wide.
Favorite purple-leaf plum for California. Foliage of newly planted trees
sometimes greenish til vigorous growth begins.
PINK DAWN CHITALPA - X Chitalpa tashkentensis 'Pink Dawn'
(Catalpa x Chilopsis) Very fast-growing, relatively small single or
multi-trunked tree, reaches approximately 20 ft. x 20 ft. Very drought
tolerant. Large clusters of trumpet-shaped flowers in summer are pale
purplish-pink with pale yellow throat. Long, narrow, attractive, glossy
green leaves. Hybridized in Russia. Adapted to Southern Calif. and low
desert climates of the southwestern U.S.
FOREST PANSY REDBUD - Cercis canadensis `Forest Pansy’ Striking
scarlet colored new foliage turning maroon and then green as the leaves
mature. Highly valued as a landscape accent. Swelling buds break
pinkish-red along the bare branches, similar to eastern redbud. Moderate
grower to 20 ft. with a spreading habit. Sunset zones 1-3, 7-20.
MEXICAN REDBUD - Cercis canadensis mexicana Profuse
pinkish-purple flowers in spring. Glossy, scalloped, blue-green leaves.
Tolerates hot summers. Smaller than other redbuds, to 15-20 ft. Sunset
zones 4-24.
PURPLE SMOKE TREE - Cotinus coggygria `atropurpurea' Purple
foliage, rich purple "smoke": hazy-appearing clusters of fuzzy, purple
flower stalks. Multi-trunked shrub or small tree to 20 ft. x 20 ft. Likes
cold, needs good drainage, resists oak root fungus. All zones.
NAVAJO GLOBE WILLOW - Salix matsudana 'Navajo' Large
round-headed tree to 50 ft. x 50 ft. or more. Very hardy, adapted to high
desert climates. S. matsudana varieties require less water than other
willows. Very fast-growing. Any soil. All zones.
TEXAS SCARLET FLOWERING QUINCE - Chaenomeles speciosa.
Orange-red flowers in spring, Round shaped shrub. Height to 3’. Zone 5.
