Aprium® Interspecific Apricots
Aprium® interspecific hybrids are complex Prunus crosses, primarily of apricot and plum. Unlike plumcots, which are simple plum x apricot crosses, Aprium® interspecifics were developed by Zaiger Genetics through intricate hybridizing; several generations of crosses were required to create these new fruits. Aprium® interspecifics, with their scant fuzz, resemble apricots - their apricot parentage is expressed.
Color-Cot™ Interspecific Apricots
Color-Cot™ I.S. Apricots from Zaiger's Inc. Genetics of Modesto, California, are interspecific Prunus hybrids, primarily of apricot (Pr. armeniaca) and plum (Pr. salicina), which resemble apricot and have especially attractive pubescent skin blushed red or orange-red.
In recent years the Dave Wilson Nursery cherry inventory has been greatly expanded to include many new large-sized, crack-resistant and self-fertile varieties as well as earlier- and later-maturing selections

The diversity of the plum - black, purple, red or green skin, red or yellow flesh - affords many market opportunities for commercial growers.
The Luther Burbank interspecific, plum x apricot, improved by Zaiger Genetics.
Pluot® Interspecific Plums
The most famous of the Zaiger Interspecifics, these hybrids are complex Prunus crosses, primarily of plum and apricot. Unlike plumcots, which are simple plum x apricot crosses, Pluot® interspecific plums were developed by the Zaigers through intricate hybridizing; several generations of crosses are typically required to create these new fruits. Pluot® interspecifics have predominantly plum parentage and smooth skins like plums.
