The largest of the late season yellow nectarines, Honey Gem is an excellent low-acid clingstone. This fruit features a sweet flavor (average Brix of 17.7%) and firm, moderately juicy flesh that holds well in shipping. The self-fertile Honey Gem tree is a regular heavy bearer of large fruit that matures in early August and holds firm on the tree 8 to 10 days. The Honey Gem nectarine has a winter chilling requirement of 600 hours or more. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 21836)
