The Blackamber plum is a firm, dark purple-to-black fruit that resembles the Friar plum. The tree grows rapidly and bears a heavy crop in the 4th week of June. This heavily planted variety blooms in mid-season and requires a pollenizer. Blackamber has an estimated chilling requirement of 400 hours.
