A complex interspecific plum, Flavor Blast is very sweet, averaging 26 ºBrix when firm ripe, with a good balance of acid and sugar. The fruit is medium size, with skin bright red over yellow and a round to slightly elongated shape. Its yellow clingstone flesh is crisp and meaty, offering excellent eating quality. Rated very firm, Flavor Blast has good handling, storage and shipping qualities. Harvest approximately September 1-15. Self-sterile, pollenizer required. Estimated chilling requirement 700 hours.
