Keep Deer Out

Problem:

Solution:

Tools & Supplies:

50 feet of fence ( enough for two enclosures )

100 feet of wire ( what you see here is called Re-bar Wire or Mechanics Wire.

Four 8-Foot T-posts ( generic metal fence posts )

All this cost less than $40 in Petaluma, CA in January 2000

Plant trees 18-24 inches apart in a square and decide how you will irrigate...

Roll the fence wire around the posts.

Secure it with pieces of rebar wire.

This system works because from any direction it resists caving in, frustrating the deer.

Also, as the treesgrow through the fencing the deer will prune what’s outside, maintaining the trees within the compound!

Easy to get into: just undo one corner & you're in!
