With the size and shape of a plum but yellow skin and firm yellow flesh, the Flavorella plumcot is a pleasant surprise for consumers. The clingstone fruit features a pronounced aroma reminiscent of a Santa Rosa plum, while the tart skin is slightly pubescent like an apricot. The Flavorella plumcot was hybridized by Floyd Zaiger who described the flavor as "a creative taste between apricot and plum."
