Harvested in the 3rd week of May, Rich May is a yellow-fleshed clingstone peach with better flavor than other May-ripening selections. Although it may be difficult to crop some years, the Rich May is a very vigorous tree producing large fruit (2-5/8" to 3") with high color (85% to 90% deep red over yellow). This peach has a chilling requirement of 800 to 900 hours, and may form tips in low-chill years.
