Named for its strong, “friendly” pollen, the Amigo 1 Pluot® blooms early in the season and matures just before Flavor Supreme in the first two weeks of June. The Amigo 1 fruit has bluish-red skin and red-tinged yellow flesh. The 40-45 sized fruit delivers a good flavor that is reminiscent of its plum parent with more tartness than most any other Pluot® (16 ºBrix). The tree’s growth habit is vigorous and upright. A pollenizer such as Emerald Gem, Flavor Supreme or Dapple Dandy is required. Estimated chilling requirement 700 hours. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 20165)
